Adagio in C major K. 356
This work most likely dates from the last months of Mozart’s life, probably written in Vienna in 1791. Assumed to have been written for Mariane Kirchgeßner, it is actually scored for glass harmonica, but like Mozart’s other compositions for this somewhat idiosyncratic instrument it is now more usually performed on the piano or organ.
