Andante in F major K. 616
In common with K.594 this work was commissioned for a mechanical organ by Count Joseph Deym, perhaps for installation in a smaller mechanical organ also in his Müllersche Kunstgalerie. Mozart completed the work in May 1791 in a flurry of composition in response to commission, attempting to stave off penury. Its first publication followed soon after, in the guise of a rondo for piano, proof that Mozart imagined these works having a life outside of their mechanical origins.
