Dans un bois solitaire K. 308
One of a pair of songs written to French texts – there are also a couple of Italian songs, but the rest are in German – this was written in Mannheim in 1777/1778. The text is by Antoine Houdart de Lamotte and like the other French song (the arietta Oiseaux, si tous les ans K.307) it was written for Elisabeth Augusta (affectionately known by Mozart as “Lisl” or “Gustl”) Wendling and is in the French opéra comique style.
