Jamie Campbell (violin) was born in 1982 and was educated at Clare College, Cambridge, where he studied Music, graduating in 2005. He is currently pursuing advanced studies with Professor Günter Pichler at the Universität für Musik und Darstellen Kunst in Vienna. He has previously studied with Howard Davis in London and Massimo Quarta in Switzerland. He was recently a recipient of the Allcard Prize from the Worshipful Company of Musicians and the Emmanuel Hurwitz Chamber Music Trust Award.
 
As a soloist he has performed concerti by Tchaikovsky, Mendelssohn, Mozart and Bach in London, Cambridge and further afield, including in Fairfield Hall, Croydon, in Budapest and Prague. In November 2006 he performed the Berg Concerto in the Cambridge Music Festival with the University Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Timothy Brown. Jamie has also given frequent recitals, most recently in the Chelsea Schubert Festival.He also recently premiered David Earl's 2nd Violin Sonata with the composer at the piano.
 
Jamie is greatly in demand as a chamber musician, playing in the Kokoschka Piano Trio, and leading the Solstice String Quartet. This has led to performances across the country and abroad, including live on BBC Radio 3. He is also a principal player in Aurora Orchestra (conducted by Nicholas Collon) who are Leverhulme Fellows at the Royal Academy of Music, and orchestrally he has played with the London Chamber Orchestra, the London Mozart Players and has an ongoing trial with the Philharmonia Orchestra.
