Kommet her, ihr frechen Sünder K. 146
This brief Passiontide aria for soprano and strings dates from 1779, when Mozart was in Salzburg. In three verses, it was most probably written for insertion into a German Passion oratorio, and stems from an extremely fruitful period of church composition that also included the “Coronation” Mass, the Vesperae de Dominica K. 321 and the Regina coeli K. 276.
